Ye daulat bhi le lo....

Aksar mann mechanical zindagi se pareshan ho uthta hai....
subeh se shaam tak ghadi ki sui pe chalte chalte thak jaata hai - cell phone mein bajte hua alarm uthne ka ishara karta hai, office cab ka horn chilla ke ghar se nikalne ka order sunata hai, outlook se popup hota hua meeting reminder, shaam ko ghar jaate huay baar baar ghadi aur bahar ka traffic jam dekhna...............subeh se shaam tak ki yeh bechaini.....
kaash !! bachpan ke din kabhi na beete hote.....

Shayad yeh jagjit singh ki sabse lokpriya ghazal hai...

Ye Daulat Bhi Le Lo, Ye Shohrat Bhi Le Lo
Bhale Cheen Lo Mujhse Meri Jawaani
Magar Mujhko Lauta Do Bachchpan Ka Saawan
Wo Kaagaz Ki Kasthi Wo Baarish Ka Paani

Mohalle Ki Sabse Nishaani Purani
Wo Budhiya Jise Bachche Kehte The Naani
Wo Naani Kee Baaton Mein Pariyon Ka Dera
Wo Chehre Ke Jhuriyon Mein Sadiyon Ka Phera

Bhulaaye Nahin Bhool Saqta Hai Koi
Wo Choti See Raaten Wo Lambi Kahaani

Kadi Dhoop Mein Apne Ghar Se Nikalna
Wo Chidiya Wo Bulbul Wo Thithli Pakadna
Wo Gudiya Ki Shaadi Pe Ladna Jhagadna
Wo Jhoolon Se Girna, Wo Gir Ke Sambhalna
Wo Pithal Ke Challon Ke Pyaare Se Tohfe
Wo Tuti Hui Chudiyon Ki Nishaani

Kabhi Re't Ke Oonche Tilon Pe Jaana
Gharonde Banana, Banaake Mitaana
Wo Maasoom Chaahat Ki TasveerApni
Wo Khwabon Khilono Ki Taabir Jaageer Apni
Na Duniya Ka Gham Tha Na Rishton Ke Bandhan
Badi Khoobsoorat Thi Wo Zindgaani

Cheer up Mam!
There are a lot of things that we get to do when we were not allowed earlier. We get to travel and see the world and get to meet people and learn a lot of things.

As for the mechanical life, take a break go visit some places and see how beautiful life is.

But yeah true, sometimes we like to think about the state of no tension we used to have when we were kids.
Waise when I was a kid I used to listen to a lot of Jagjit Singh's and his wife's ghazals and songs.
The album Sajda was one of my favourites then.
And this ghazal was my favourite too.Had a good time singing it in those days.Ironic , is it? :)

You're right !!! There's lots of things we cudnt do as kids...
But thing is that in the cost-benefit analysis, "bachpan" wins handsdown :))

And I guess there are some awful days when u leave for office at 7:30 in the morning and reach at 11 (courtesy traffic snarls)....and those are the days that make u miss bachpan all the more....
Vaise an alternative option is to setup a teastall (chai ka dhaba) somewhere in sikkim :))

And about jagjit singh, yes it sure is ironic....and...thats the first time i've heard from someone that they liked jagjit singh in bachpan. One usually developes this jagjit singh mania only somewhere post-college :)

When I think of bachpan this song comes naturally to my mind

Bachpan ke din bhi kya din
Udte phirte titli ban ke.
